Staff Accomplishments

Wendy MacLeod  Wendy Macleod was awarded ‘Outstanding Administrative Support Officer’ in 2007 for her outstanding service, dedication, loyalty and commitment to the whole school community.  Wendy has worked at Ocean Reef Senior High School since October 1989 as a School Officer, fulfilling many roles within the school.

Eileen Holyoake  Eileen Holyoake is our Canteen Manager.  Eileen has worked at Ocean Reef Senior High School since June 1989 as Canteen Assistant, and in February 2006 became Canteen Manager.  Eileen received the Education Award for Excellence (Canteen Category) in October 2008.

Joel Smoker  Mr Smoker is an Art teacher at Ocean Reef Senior High School. He is also a practicing artist who works in wide range of artistic mediums. Earlier this year he released a book of forty of his photographs titled The Kimberley Series. These are images from a collection of photographs that he took whilst working as an Arts Advisory teacher in the Kimberley Region from 1983 to 1985. The photographs are available for viewing on his web site at www.joelsmoker.com Mr Smoker is also an accomplished ceramicist with works in the collection of the Art Gallery of Western Australia.

Zena Hesford.  Zena was nominated for the West Coast District 2009 Education Awards of Excellence for Secondary Teachers. Zena is an outstanding contributor to Ocean Reef Senior High School and has been for a number of years.  She willingly undertakes responsibility for development and implementation of new courses in one of the largest Career Education departments in the country.  Zena’s tireless efforts have been acknowledged by the Curriculum Council as she ran Consensus Moderation meetings for stage one and two courses of Career and Enterprise.  She constantly seeks new resources, leads the way implementing innovative approaches and is praised by students and parents alike for her diligence, organisation and support of others.
