In 2007 Ms Ray's Year 10A English class made picture books which explored an issue or theme relevant to South African children. Copies of student work were sent to children South Africa as party of the compulsory Community Service Program that all Year 10 students must complete. Several students also entered the Childrens' Picture Book Awards and received certificates of merit.
