Student Enrichment
There are a range of activities students can participate in to enrich their experience at Ocean Reef SHS. These include clubs, break time activities, mentoring and other supports. Listed below are some of the activities available to students.
Book Club
Any students who love to read are encouraged to join the EveReaders Book Club which meet in the Library on Wednesdays during Lunch Break. Students enjoy chatting about their favourite books and authors, and recommending books to each other. Bring your lunch in, bring a friend and join in the fun!
Chess Club
The Chess Club meets on Mondays in the Library during Lunch Break. Beginners and masters are all welcome!
Maths Club
Maths Club runs every Thursday morning from 8:15am before school. It is open to all year groups and is perfect for students who need some additional help with their class work. Teachers will be available during this time to answer questions and assist students. It is also a good place to sit quietly and work on maths class work as well. So, if you feel that you or your student requires some additional help Maths Club will be the first thing we recommend.
Breakfast Club
Breakfast club operates every Wednesday morning. Students can enjoy toasties and a drink prior to commencing the day. free of charge.
Milo Matters
Meets every Wednesday at recess to discuss any issues and develop friendships while enjoying a cup of milo.
Diversity Club
Meets every Monday at recess to discuss issues and develop friendships. All students are welcome.
Thoughtful Thursdays
Meets Thursday lunchtimes and create jewellery pieces and craft in a social setting.
Mindful Music
Enjoy listening and dancing to music every Friday.
Gym access
The gym is available for year groups to access on their rostered break time. Student can refer to information in the Daily Notices.
Sports equipment
Students are able to loan sports equipment at each break to use on the oval or at the table tennis tables.
Library – Opening Hours
The school Library is open every day from 8:30am until 4:00pm and is a safe space for everyone.
Before school students can read, work, borrow books or print in the Library and those students who do not own their own device can also borrow a laptop.
During breaks students are invited to participate in the activities or clubs happening in the Library. They can also use the comfortable spaces provided in the Library to read, study or complete schoolwork.
